1965 Matchbox Ferrari Berlinetta

The Ferrari 250 is a series of sports cars produced by the Italian carmaker from 1952 to 1964 and powered by the Columbo V12. Over that span of years, there are about 20 variants of the 250 – either designed for road use or racing – some using a short wheelbase and some a long wheelbase.

The Matchbox Ferrari Berlinetta was first released in 1965 and was produced in about 8 different variations. Up to 1969, the Berlinetta had two-piece wheels with black plastic tires and cast metal spoked wheels. In 1970 it was given Superfast wheels. This early metallic green model is another of my Wichita eBay scores.

The Matchbox Ferrari Berlinetta features a tow hook.

This second example is another one I landed in an eBay auction from my local friend. It is in slightly better condition and seems to be a darker shade of metallic green.
