1975 Matchbox Rolamatics Range Rover Police

In 1973, Matchbox introduced Rolamatics, a line of cars that has kinetic play features. A rod attached to one of the wheels turns a kind of gear inside the body of the car which causes another feature of the car to move. The Matchbox Rolamatics Range Rover Police Patrol was originally released in 1975. Normally, rolling the car would cause the spinner on top to turn. On this one – from the collection of Big A – the dome on top appears to have been melted down from its original rounded shape, which causes the spinner inside to impede the movement of the left rear wheel.

The other Matchbox Rolamatics model I have in my collection is the 1974 Weasel Armored Vehicle.
